Determination of Flood Susceptibility Index Using Overlay-Scoring Data Method based on Geographic Information System (GIS) in Semarang City, Central Java, Indonesia

Semarang City is the capital of Central Java Province, located in lowlands and directly adjacent to north side Sea. This geographical condition makes this city very vulnerable being affected by floods. study aims determine distribution flood-prone locations classify level flood susceptibility that occurs City. Quantitative descriptive type research with an overlay method based on scoring parameters related environmental conditions. These include slope, soil type, rainfall, altitude, land use river flow buffers. The scored are then entered into stage other geographic information system (GIS) application form a map level. data analysis technique used method. resulting from one area Pemali-Juana Sub-watershed. results also show scattered highly areas northern part low elevations flat slopes, dominated settlement lacks infiltration areas, small buffer sizes. what make classified as prone flooding.
